Ukrainian investment fund Roosh Ventures has made a significant investment in Toothio, a Scottsdale, Arizona-based startup tackling the shortage of dental professionals. Serhiy Tokarev, co-founder and partner of Roosh Ventures, shared the news on LinkedIn, highlighting the challenges dental practices in the U.S. face in recruiting and retaining staff—an issue reported by 95% of them.
Toothio provides private dental clinics and dental service organizations with access to a robust database of over 30,000 qualified dental professionals. Leveraging a proprietary software algorithm, the platform efficiently matches clinics with professionals who have available shifts nearby, boasting an impressive 97% vacancy fill rate. This optimization helps clinics streamline operations, offering professionals greater flexibility and ensuring patients receive timely care.
Tokarev emphasized the benefits:
"Dental clinics can simplify and optimize their operations, professionals gain greater flexibility, and patients benefit from faster appointments."
Toothio recently secured an additional $5 million in funding, led by NVP Capital and Craft Ventures, with contributions from Roosh Ventures, Rho Capital, Marketplace Capital, Burst Capital, Revere Partners, Karman Ventures, Az Crown, and Connexa Capital. This latest funding round and the expansion into new markets underscore Toothio's rapid growth, with over 15,000 new dental professionals joining the platform in 2024 alone.
